Wooly Mountains

A 3D landscape textured only with photos

These were made for an assignment in my 3D class at uni using Maya 2016. The task was to model, texture and compose a 3D scene using only textures we made ourselves. I was a big fan of this because it meant I could photoshop the crap out of the photos I took. Which I totally did.

The textures themselves were photos taken of scarfs and wool, then colour changed along with a few other things in photoshop. If I had more time I would have made bump maps for everything and maybe looked into some sort of fluff shader to get a cool wool effect.
